How might we help people feel safe while they navigate the city?
Individual project
3 weeks (2022.03)
People can feel unsafe when navigating the city - crimes, lack of infrastructure, hygiene issues, etc. This project explores conceptual city design to help people feel safer in the city through several emerging technology including augmented reality, LiDAR, drones, and deep learning models. The prototype focuses on the scenario in which the user navigates the city alone while wearing AR glasses.
I was responsible for the ene-to-end visual interaction design and AR prototyping for the project. I researched and designed the concept prototype. For creating the video, I sketched storyboards, filmed actors in multiple scenes, and edited the footage to apply 3D effects.

"For me it’s just about alerting other people with dogs or kids to be more careful around these places. Maybe for a bit don't let your dogs just roam, just in case. Keep them close" - Adam
"It's not just options of places to go, but when you're trying to get from A to B, there are all kinds of obstacles that are blocking the way" - Jasmine
